Springtime in Dallas is the best.

Fresh flowers, sunshine, warmer temperatures – all wonderful things.

It’s also a great time to declutter your apartment and spend some time spring cleaning for the coming year.

That’s right, it’s spring cleaning season. And just because you might live in a small apartment doesn’t mean you should skimp on spring cleaning.

Take this opportunity to set yourself up for a fresh and clean season ahead!

And to help you out, we’ve put together a list of some important spring cleaning areas that you might have forgotten about – happy cleaning!

Ceiling Fan Blades

Use a wet rag or dust cloth to clean the blades of the ceiling fans in your apartment – you might be surprised how much dust they collect over the course of a year.

Under the Bed

Same goes for the space under your bed(s). Instead of just vacuuming around the bed, take the time to move it and really clean the area underneath.

Under the Stove

The area under the stove is another one that collects dust quickly, but can also collect bits of old food that may begin to mold if not cleaned up properly.

Bathroom Areas

Deep clean the bathroom, meaning scrub the shower, the area around the toilet, inside the cabinets and even inside your toothbrush holder.

Garbage Can

It’s always a good idea to deep clean your garbage cans from time to time – don’t just empty the trash but sanitize the entire can to keep things fresh (and smelling good!).

Light Switches

Light switches are easy to ignore, but they are something we touch every day so it’s a good idea to thoroughly clean them at least once a year – if not more often.

Pillows and Comforters

Obviously, you should wash your sheets regularly, but at least a couple times a year you should clean your pillows and comforters to keep things fresh.

Windows and Curtains

Springtime means better weather, so it’s a great time to think about cleaning your windows, window treatments and blinds to really let the sunlight into your place.

Baseboards and Moldings

Baseboards and moldings aren’t the most fun things to clean, but both are dust magnets and so it’s a good idea to scrub and clean each at least once a year.

Medicine Cabinets

Since you’re already on a cleaning-roll, you might as well clean out your medicine and bathroom cabinets. Get rid of anything that’s old, outdated or expired.

Fridge and Freezer

Along the same lines, make a point to clean out your fridge, freezer, and even your pantry. Get rid of old and expired food and deep clean the shelves and drawers.

Carpets and Rugs

Vacuum and even use cleaner on the carpets, but also don’t forget about the rugs! Take some time to clean all of the rugs in your apartment, from the kitchen to the bathroom.

Kitchen Appliances

Take some time to deep clean all of the appliances in your kitchen, including the toaster, coffee maker, oven, microwave, and stovetop – get rid of all those crumbs and burnt bits!
